How do we do this? The Bible says in Romans 12:1-2 that we are to be living sacrifices:
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
We face daily obstacles and constant battles with our flesh. Yes, we have been crucified with Christ, but our flesh is continually at war with the Holy Spirit within us.

That’s why it’s our responsibility to fuel our spirit by feasting on the Word of God. This is what kills the flesh. This is how we become living sacrifices. This is how we conquer and subdue our feelings. Worshipping God in this way—by replacing lies with His truth—is the best way to honor Him. It requires commanding our mind, will, and emotions to align with His Word, and discarding anything that weakens our Spirit Man!
Leviticus 6:13 says, “Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.” Similarly, we keep our hearts devoted to Him.
Intentional intimacy is where it’s at! We must deny our own desires, starting with the reminder that we were made for this. We were created to please God. We were made on purpose and with a purpose, as Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us.
Receiving God’s will means refusing to conform to the ways of the world by feeding our flesh. As we commit to daily renewal, we begin to discern what is good, pleasing, and acceptable to the Father. We are strengthened by a good Father who always knows what’s best for us (Isaiah 55:8).
In a nutshell, if you give God your mind, He will give you His will. Renew your mind according to His truth! Amen?!
